COLCHESTER RADIO AMATEURS

Treasurer - Ed M0HDK

After many years being interested in radio I became licensed for the first time in July 2004 as M3HDK. A year later I had passed both the Intermediate and Advanced exams and my call-sign is M0HDK. I was asked and agreed to join the CRA committee in October 2005 as Treasurer as that position was vacant and there were no volunteers. I try to get involved with as many CRA events as I can, for example Special Events and JOTA. I am a registered RSGB instructor which I particularly enjoy as it helps to promote our wonderful hobby.

Assistant Treasurer - Alan G0HKG

AlanI was a Radar/Wireless Instructor in the RAF/RCAF 1941/46. I later passed the old written RAE in 1958. First licensed in 1970 as G8EJG and later in 1987 as G0HKG at which time I joined Colchester Radio Amateurs. I became a member of G3FIJ Frank’s team of instructors for the old RAE. In January 1991 I became Treasurer until September 2005. Later I became Assistant Treasurer in 2006 assisting the present Treasurer Ed M0HDK. I always enjoyed my teaching career and instructing new recruits to Amateur Radio came naturally. The whole subject still fascinates me, particularly the Sciences involved. I find constructional work and revival of old radios are a very satisfying part of our hobby and the learning process never ends. I am always available to help other operators. I hope that I will eventually see CRA operating from their own premises.
