COLCHESTER RADIO AMATEURS

The Chairman, Kevan 2E0WMG opened the meeting with a few notices. Kevan made a request for content for the Newsletter.

Articles can be submitted in any format including hand written notes, which could be typed up later, although the preferred option was via email.

The Chairman reminded the meeting of the date for the 40th annual Rally to be held at St Helena School on Sunday 27th July 2008. Members were invited to take a handful of A5 Flyers and pass these amongst friends, or give to traders when attending any other Rally. (These will be available at all meetings).

Members were also reminded that the next committee meeting is on Tuesday 8th April. If they wished any matter to be discussed they were asked to see any committee member.

Kevan then handed the meeting to over to the Clacton Club who were to host the Three Clubs Quiz.

Each team consisted of four of the finest brains from the Colchester, Clacton and Harwich Club’s. Quizmaster for the evening was Clacton’s very own Bill who had supplied a good mix of interesting questions to make the teams work for every point.

The answer to one particular question given to Harwich eluded them at the time it was posed, but when it was too late they noticed the answer in a picture on the classroom wall. The question was, how many sides (looking flat on) does a 20p coin have? Do you know without looking?

Thanks very much to Clacton for running the show and providing an entertaining and enjoyable relaxing evening for all including the spectators.

It was so relaxed the score did not appear to be important, although the picture above of Tom G0SBW presenting Team Captain Robert G4KTI with the Cup reveals the winners were none other than CRA. Well done to all three teams.
