Sometimes it is worth putting on an event for its own sake. 

Colchester Radio Amateurs regularly hold community events with Scouts, Guides, and other organizations.

On this occasion we decided just to set up in a public open space and do some operating. There were plenty of leaflets and other publicity material around and we received a fair degree of interest from the public.

The main point of the weekend was just to relax and enjoy some radio and give the club tent a decent airing.
