The
Colchester Radio Amateur club was was formed in 1963
by a group of students at the Colchester technical college
(now the Colchester Institute). Meetings were held in
the radio laboratory and concentrated on practical work
and measurement, taking advantage of the wide range
of equipment available and some expert help.
The
membership increased steadily and the range of club
activities expanded as a result. The club has always,
and continues to:

training for Foundation, Intermediate and Advanced

a social network |

Radio encompasses all methods of Radio Communication
from working through satellites, bouncing signals
off the moon, microwave links, television, to
simple radio contacts. You can take part in radio
contesting, radio orienteering, contact remote
islands and countries around the world. You can
even talk to the astronauts on the International
Space Station!"
